Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp believes his side were deserving winners after seeing them beat Werder Bremen 2-0 on Friday night.
Goals from Ivan Perisic, who was later sent off, and Patrick Owomoyela saw Dortmund move up to second in the German Bundesliga on 16 points, ahead of Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach, who play on Saturday, on goal difference.
And after watching Dortmund hold out for a win despite playing most of the second half with ten men, Klopp was particularly delighted with the resilience his players showed.
"It was an open game and we defended really well," Klopp told Weser Kurier after the match. "We also showed lots of passion.
